A fanlisting is a collective list of fans of a certain subject. This particular fanlisting is dedicated to Yagami Raito, or Light Yagami, from the manga Death Note. The manga was published weekly in Shounen Jump, illustrated by Obata Takeshi and written by Ohba Tsugumi. The fanlisting itself is named after one of Light's conversations with Ryuuk, in which he says he'll be the God of the new world.

Death Note is a story about Light, an excelling highschool student in Japan. After class one day, Light finds a notebook on the ground labeled the Death Note, with instructions on its use inside. After experimenting with the Death Note, Light is approached by the death god Ryuuk, who further explains the situation Light is in. As Light resolves to use the Death Note to rid the world of evil and crime, a detective named "L" is trying to track "Kira," the name that has been given to the person killing off criminals around the world -- the name that has been given to Light.

Basically Death Note is a big battle of wits between Light and L for the first half, the latter half involving Mello, Near and various other characters in place of L.
When I first opened this fanlisting Death Note was up to chapter 54 and still running, as of quite a while ago, Death Note the manga has ended and completed serialization in Shounen Jump. There have been numerous movies based on the original manga's plot, focusing on both Light and the other characters of the series, as well as a full length animated series. The story alone has exploded in popularity worldwide between the various sources of media available.
